Assistant Teacher

Overview

Jaffery Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our Junior School Team Key Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and delivering lessons. Provide one-on-one or small-group support to learners who need additional assistance. Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive and supportive learning environment. Prepare teaching materials, learning resources, and classroom displays. Supervise learners during lessons, breaks, and school activities. Support co-curricular programmes and school events. Communicate effectively with teachers, learners, and parents, where required. Educational Requirements Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a minimum mean grade of C (Plain). Primary Teacher Education (PTE/P1) Certificate from KNEC, or a Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) from an accredited institution, OR Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) in Primary Education from an accredited university. Training or experience in Special Needs Education (SNE) or Learning Support. Proficiency in ICT and digital learning tools. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to child safeguarding and the school's values. Experience Minimum of 1-2 years of classroom teaching experience in a primary or junior school setting. Experience supporting differentiated learning or learners with additional needs will be an added advantage.
