Co-founder & CTO — Move Different Logistics Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Hybrid) Type: Full-time, Founding Team / Equity Partnership About Move Different Logistics Move Different Logistics is Kenya's trusted logistics partner, providing air and sea freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, and last-mile delivery across East Africa. We help businesses move goods across borders and across the last mile with speed, transparency, and reliability — cutting through the friction that has long defined freight and logistics in the region. We're growing fast and looking for a technical co-founder to help us build the technology backbone that will power the next chapter of Move Different Logistics: real-time shipment visibility, automated customs workflows, smarter warehousing, and a seamless customer experience from first mile to last mile. The Opportunity East African logistics runs on phone calls, WhatsApp messages, and paper trails. We believe there's a massive opportunity to digitize freight forwarding, customs clearance, and delivery operations — and we want a Co-founder & CTO who's excited to build that from the ground up, alongside the founding team, as a true equity partner rather than an employee. This is a founder role. You won't be handed a roadmap — you'll help write it. What You'll Do • Own the technology vision and roadmap for Move Different Logistics, from customer-facing booking and tracking tools to internal operations, warehousing, and customs systems. • Build the initial product and engineering team , starting hands-on and scaling into a technical leader as the company grows. • Design and ship core systems , including shipment tracking and visibility tools, customs and documentation workflows, warehouse management, and last-mile delivery/dispatch software. • Architect for reliability and scale — logistics runs 24/7, and downtime means cargo doesn't move. • Partner closely with operations and commercial teams to understand real bottlenecks in freight, clearance, and delivery, and turn them into technology solutions. • Make build vs. buy decisions , integrating with shipping lines, customs systems (e.g., KRA/Simba), payment providers, and mapping/routing tools where it makes sense, and building custom where it's a competitive advantage. • Represent technology to investors, partners, and customers as a core member of the founding team. What We're Looking For • Proven experience building and shipping software products, ideally as a founding engineer, technical co-founder, or senior engineering leader. • Strong full-stack engineering ability and comfort working across web, mobile, and backend/infrastructure. • Experience with (or strong interest in) logistics, supply chain, fintech, or other operationally intensive industries where software meets the real, physical world. • A builder's mindset — comfortable with ambiguity, moving fast, and doing whatever it takes in the early stages of a company. • Product intuition: you can turn messy operational problems into simple, usable tools. • Experience working with distributed teams and remote/field operations is a plus. • Prior startup or founder experience is a strong plus. • Based in or willing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya.
