Job OverviewCo-op Bank is looking to enhance its HR support by hiring a strategic, motivated, and results-driven Employee Relations Manager. This role suits a self-motivated professional passionate about people and thriving in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Head of Employee Relations & Welfare, the successful candidate will be instrumental in fostering a productive and positive work environment, providing expert guidance on employee relations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and bank policies.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with team leaders to ensure uniform disciplinary procedures across the network.Review disciplinary cases and advise on appropriate actions.Analyze investigation and audit reports to determine disciplinary measures.Communicate disciplinary decisions to line managers and oversee implementation.Investigate and respond to queries from the Union or line managers regarding disciplinary matters.Organize and lead Disciplinary Hearing Panels and manage staff discipline issues.Coordinate with the Bank’s legal advocates on litigation cases involving former staff and represent the Bank in Industrial Court as a witness.Support Bank subsidiaries in disciplinary matters when required.Provide expert advice to line managers on legal implications of disciplinary actions in line with labour laws.Serve as the organization’s expert on employee relations matters.Engage stakeholders to support the Bank’s employee relations strategy.Monitor changes in labour laws and update managers accordingly.Conduct regular consultations and negotiations with the Union.Represent the Bank at Ministry of Labour conciliation meetings.Liaise with Kenya Bankers Association and Kenya Institute of Bankers on employment-related issues.Ensure HR policies comply with current labour laws.Participate in Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations with the Union.Promote best labour practices and ensure adherence to labour laws and relevant statutes.RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Law (LLB) from a recognized university.Over 5 years of demonstrable HR experience in a busy environment.Higher Diploma in Human Resources with I/CHRM or membership in a professional HR body.Comprehensive knowledge of Labour Laws and practical experience in Employee Relations.Awareness of internal and external industrial environments and detailed knowledge of disciplinary and grievance procedures.In-depth understanding of best practices in HR policies, processes, and strategies.High tact and diplomacy with excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly and professionally.Strong interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships at all organizational levels.Proven ability to remain calm, focused, organized, and deliver results under pressure and changing circumstances.How to ApplyIf you meet the qualifications and are eager to advance your career, please send your detailed CV to jobs@co-opbank.co.ke with the job reference number ERM/HRD/2026 by 17th July 2026.
