Role Description The Special Education Teacher will work full time on-site at Eshikulu Girls Secondary School in Nairobi, supporting learners with diverse disabilities and learning needs. The role involves planning and delivering individualized and small-group instruction, adapting curriculum and teaching materials, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in alignment with school policies. The teacher will collaborate with general education teachers, counselors, and families to monitor student progress, provide accommodations, and ensure inclusive participation in school activities. Daily responsibilities include classroom management, assessment and documentation of student performance, communication with caregivers, and participation in staff meetings and professional development. Qualifications • Strong knowledge of Special Education and experience working with learners with diverse disabilities. • Demonstrated Teaching skills, preferably with middle school or secondary-level students. • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, and staff. • Ability to design and implement individualized learning plans and differentiated instruction. • Relevant diploma or degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field. • Familiarity with inclusive education practices, classroom management, and student assessment. • Commitment to safeguarding, student well-being, and professional ethical standards. • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and teamwork within the school community.
