Overview

Key Responsibilities Process and record financial transactions including invoices, receipts, payments, and journal entries. Maintain accurate accounting records and update financial information in the accounting system. Prepare bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies. Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports. Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable schedules. Monitor tenant accounts and ensure timely billing of rent, service charges, and other related fees. Prepare tenant statements and follow up on outstanding balances. Support rent collection and debt recovery initiatives to minimize arrears. Maintain lease records, including renewals, rent reviews, lease expiries, and tenant onboarding documentation. Reconcile tenant deposits, rental income, and occupancy reports. Generate reports on rental collections, arrears, vacancies, and occupancy levels. Assist in statutory compliance and preparation of tax returns. Support internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. CPA Part II or above. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting within the real estate, property management, or related sector. Demonstrable experience in lease administration, tenant account management, rent collection, and property accounting. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel. Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements. Key Competencies Strong financial and analytical skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Credit control and debt collection capabilities. Strong organizational and time management skills. High level of integrity and confidentiality. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
