About Us Ethio-BioPharma Enterprise (EBPE) is Ethiopia’s state-owned pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise, established to build the nation’s capacity to manufacture vaccines, essential medicines, diagnostics, medical supplies and other healthcare technologies locally. Operating under EIH, EBPE is developing an integrated pharmaceutical campus at the Kilinto Special Economic Zone in Addis Ababa, co-locating multiple manufacturing units that share infrastructure,talent, and corporate services.Job SummaryI. Main Purpose of the postUnder the supervision of the HRD & Property Administration Department Manager, the Driver is responsible for providing safe, timely, and efficient transport services for Ethio Biopharma Enterprise.II. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITYA. Operational & Transport Services • Receives transport service orders from the HRD & Property Administration Department Manager and ensures employees are picked up at specified locations 10 minutes prior to departure. • Drives vehicles to destinations applying expert knowledge of traffic and safety regulations, choosing smooth roads to protect the vehicle and ensure passenger comfort. • Ensures the vehicle is loaded strictly within its capacity and prohibits unauthorized persons or materials from being loaded. • Ensures the vehicle is filled with adequate fuel, oil, and water. Fills out the logbook (departure time, kilometer reading, destination, and passenger name) before every trip. B.Technical Maintenance & Safety • Checks the technical condition of the vehicle (brakes, tires, lights, fuel meter) and verifies the presence of accessories (wrenches/spare tires) before departing. • Cleans the outer and inner sides of the vehicle before departing and washes the vehicle after daily duties are finalized. • Monitors service intervals and informs the HRD & Property Administration Department Manager when maintenance is due. Follows up on repairs in the garage to ensure only genuine spare parts are used. • Performs simple roadside repairs and reports major breakdowns immediately if the issue is beyond his/her technical capacity. • Ensures the vehicle undergoes the mandatory annual government technical examination as required by law. C. Documentation & Accountability • Records fuel, oil, and tire consumption. • In the event of a collision, reports immediately to traffic police and the immediate supervisor to facilitate insurance claims. • Responsible for the timely renewal of his/her driving license. D. Authority • Authorized to ensure that unauthorized persons or materials are not loaded and that the vehicle is within its rated capacity. • Authorized to refuse operation if the vehicle is technically unsound or if safety conditions are compromised. E. Effort required • Mental Effort: Requires a moderate level of attention to monitor gauges/meters and identify traffic signs and symbols from a distance. • Physical Effort: Requires physical stamina for long-distance driving, hand and leg coordination for gear/pedal changes, and the ability to change tires or perform minor repairs. • Visual Effort: High visual concentration required, especially when navigating curved or dangerous roads and identifying traffic signs in varied weather conditions. F. Reports to: This position reports to HR and Administration ManagerThe Driver is expected to carry out other related tasks as assigned by pertinent authoritySalary: As per the Organization's Scale
