Reports to: Head of Marketing & Communications About Verst Carbon Verst Carbon is a climate technology and carbon markets company helping African governments, businesses, and communities unlock carbon potential for sustainable livelihoods. We develop carbon projects, build digital MRV systems, support governments in establishing national carbon market infrastructure, and provide strategic advisory across carbon markets, climate finance, and environmental commodities. Our work spans Carbon Project Development, Climate Advisory Services, Carbon Markets Capacity Building, and Innovation and Emerging Technology across Africa. Job Summary Verst Carbon is seeking a creative, digitally savvy, and highly organised Marketing & Content Coordinator to support the execution of the company's marketing and communications strategy. This is a content-first role suited for someone who enjoys creating engaging digital content, keeping up with emerging trends, and bringing technical climate and carbon market conversations to life through compelling storytelling. The successful candidate will support content production across multiple platforms, coordinate digital campaigns, manage social media channels, and help strengthen Verst Carbon's digital presence while working closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications. Key Responsibilities The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for developing engaging content for Verst Carbon's digital platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube, newsletters, and the company website. The role will involve repurposing podcasts, webinars, field visits, reports, and events into engaging multimedia content while translating technical carbon market and climate conversations into clear, human-centred stories. The successful candidate monitor digital trends, identify content opportunities, schedule and publish content, engage with online communities, and use analytics to improve performance. The role also includes designing graphics for digital campaigns, presentations, reports, webinars, and events, while producing short-form videos, reels, podcast clips, and basic photo edits that align with the Verst Carbon brand. The successful candidate will also be expected to leverage AI-powered tools to improve content creation, research, design, video editing, productivity, and marketing workflows, while continuously exploring emerging technologies that enhance digital communications. Qualifications & Experience Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field, with at least two years of experience in marketing, communications, digital media, or content creation. Experience working in climate change, carbon markets, sustainability, renewable energy, conservation, technology, or development sectors will be an added advantage. Applicants should submit a portfolio demonstrating previous work in content creation, social media management, graphic design, or video production. Key Skills & Competencies The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and storyteller with a strong understanding of digital marketing and social media strategy. Experience using tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design and editing software is essential, together with basic video and photo editing skills. The successful candidate should be highly organised, proactive, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. A passion for AI, climate action, innovation, sustainability, and African development is highly desirable.
