Overview
Job Summary • Safeguard DBE’s interests in co-financing arrangements governed by foreign law (primarily English law); • Resolve legal ambiguities in existing inter-lender agreements to facilitate smooth enforcement; • Support DBE in enforcement actions and post-enforcement processes; and • Strengthen DBE’s internal capacity in handling cross-border legal matter. Job Requirement Required Educational Qualification: Minimum of LL.B. or equivalent in International Law, Banking Law, Commercial Law, Finance Law, or a related field Required Work Experience: • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience; • Demonstrated expertise in English law–governed financing agreements and be a member of a recognized Bar (qualified to practice English Law is highly preferred); • International project finance, with a proven track record in DFI (Development Finance Institution) or Multilateral Bank transactions Inter-creditor arrangements; and Security enforcement and post-enforcement processes. Core Competencies • Strong legal drafting and analytical skills; • Experience working with development finance institutions or multilateral banks is an advantage; and • Proven track record in dispute resolution under international frameworks. Mode of Engagement: • Retainer basis and/or assignment-based engagement; and • Combination of remote advisory and on-demand in-person support (if required). Term of Employment: Initial Contract Period: 6–12 months with possibility of early termination or extension based on performance and requirement.
